About Nick

Nick Senzee is a therapist in Washington State and the founder of Therapy Cabin, a private practice focused on supporting men, LGBTQ+ clients, and individuals navigating religious trauma, life transitions, and identity development. Nick brings a multidisciplinary background in literature, cultural theory, and community-based work into his clinical practice. Early in his career, he worked as staff at the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), where he gained firsthand insight into the broader mental health landscape. As a gay, ex-Mormon clinician, Nick integrates lived experience with evidence-based, client-centered, and existential approaches, emphasizing emotional resilience, meaning-making, and practical skill-building. He is known for his thoughtful yet funny style and for creating spaces where clients can feel seen.

Nick is a father of two (and has been a stay-at-home dad), and is a dedicated boyfriend, ex-husband, and friend. Gofrette the cat is his co-pilot. He plays the piano and violin and likes to grow flowers.

M.A. in Mental Health Counseling: Palo Alto University

Nick earned his Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling through a rigorous program that emphasized clinical skill development, ethical practice, and culturally responsive care. His training included extensive supervised clinical experience and a strong foundation in evidence-based and integrative therapeutic approaches.

M.A in French Cultural Studies: Brigham Young University

Nick holds a Master’s degree in French Cultural Studies, focusing on psychoanalytic theory, critical thought, and the psychological dimensions of narrative and identity. This background continues to shape his therapeutic work, strengthening his ability to listen for underlying patterns, unconscious themes, and meaning in clients’ stories.
